This diorama is home to Richard, a young and slightly autistic mongoose.  Like most of us Richard finds daily living hard and uncomfortable. We catch him here in one of those moments, staring across the garden pond looking at a girl that he likes. This is Richard's first crush and truth be told she is way to old for him.

This diorama is home to Emlyn.  He is a young and gentle reindeer who has an insatiable love for coffee. He has a riendeer beard and an outlook on life that we should all aspire too. He just goes around making everyone feel great about themselves. It takes a lot to get Emyln down, Ive only seen it once but it was truly heartbreaking.

Medium:  Mixed-Media Diorama in a discarded tape recorder

Size: approx 300mm x 240mm.  

A diorama made in a found drill bit case.  Lit by LED's on either side, it has a small baby blue on/off switch on the front and easily opens in the back to change the 9 Volt battery.

For this piece I chose an animal that is steeped in mysticism and fantasy, just like the human body of the Middle Ages. Body of the Beast is a tongue-in-cheek exposition of the human ideal. It reveals the beast within.
